The Southampton Suns U14s marked a historic occasion this weekend as they played their very first National League fixture against local rivals Team Solent Kestrels.

From the tip-off, the Suns showed incredible spirit and determination, rising to the challenge of the higher level of competition. Their teamwork shone throughout the game, moving the ball with confidence and showing some excellent defensive organisation. Every player contributed, demonstrating resilience and commitment against an experienced Kestrels side.

Despite their best efforts, the Suns fell just short on the scoreboard. However, the performance was nothing short of a massive achievement. For a team making its National League debut, the maturity and togetherness they displayed on court was remarkable, earning the respect of both sets of supporters.

Although the result went the way of Team Solent Kestrels, the Suns left the court with their heads held high. This was the first step in their National League journey, and the signs are hugely promising for the season ahead.
