Suns take the Spark out of Salisbury

Match Report: Southampton Suns 74 – 48 Salisbury Sparks NL u16s

The Southampton Suns delivered a commanding performance this weekend, securing a 74–48 victory over Salisbury in a game defined by discipline, teamwork, and clinical execution.

From the opening tip, the Suns established their rhythm, moving the ball with confidence and attacking with purpose. Salisbury battled hard throughout, but the Suns’ well-drilled structure and intensity proved decisive as the game progressed.

A major factor in the win came from the Suns’ threat beyond the arc, where they consistently capitalised on open looks and stretched the Salisbury defence. Combined with dominant rebounding at both ends, the Suns controlled the pace of the game and limited Salisbury’s second-chance opportunities.

Every player contributed to a strong, composed team performance, with standout scoring coming from:

• L. Webb – 26

• E. Thompson – 16

• J. Edet – 13

• S. Apaya – 11

• G. Eyles – 6

• A. Tomala – 2

This result reflects the group’s hard work in training and their continued growth as a cohesive, confident unit. A tough challenge, but an impressive win earned through discipline, sharp shooting, and relentless effort on the boards.
